Oh wow.. I can’t believe that I haven’t posted in a few days!  Time to catch up, and then go relax for the night :)  It’s the weekend, and the weather is supposed to be beautiful. I haven’t been spending as much time outside as I’d like to, so I’m hoping to get in a few hours of sunshine tomorrow ;)

Day 4:

First.. an update for Day 3 that I didn’t get around to posting:

Made a huge dinner AND cleaned up all the dishes afterwords! My sink was shining before I hit the hay last night

Today was a different story however.. I woke up not feeling well at all, and other than answering a few emails, making a light dinner and tidying that mess up, I haven’t done a darn thing.

Good thing was neither child (or dh for that matter) was home today, so there wasn’t any *new* mess .. until everyone arrived home at 4:30 lol.

Day 5:

So, my sink has been cleaned several times today! Once without even being asked hehehe

Dishwasher loaded - ready to run in the am

Bathroom - uh oh.. how is it, no one was home for several hours, and the ‘destroy the room’ fairy shows up? Needless to say, it needs to be tackled in the morning!

Living room - vaccuumed, picked up some more ’stuff’ and put them in the correct rooms

paperwork - filed some more!

Ok, ya know what? I’m scared!!! Who the heck am I and where is the real Dianne ?????

Day 6:
I did ok, but found myself feeling very lazy and not wanting to do anything. Guess I’m allowed a day off every once in a while, but the thought of the disaster areas I’d be walking into in the morning sure wasn’t a happy one. So, I did manage to get off my keester and tidy up the kitchen and bathroom.

But, with my mood being the way it was, I spent part of the day crashed on the couch watching movies, and the other part of the day sitting here, getting some much need work done online. Result: Living area is destroyed. Lesson learned.

Without at least 10 minutes worth of tidying up during the day, I sure pay for it!!

Day 7:

Had no choice but to pay some attention to the living room

My son has decided to regress in the toilet training, and soaked through 2 pair of shorts tonight and another pair last night *sigh*. Not sure what’s going on to cause this, but have a feeling he’s just being kinda lazy about stopping what he’s doing to go to the bathroom. So, it was also laundry day (again lol). It seems that if I don’t run at least one load a day, that area get’s extremely backed up… and we have jumbo sized washer and dryer, so I can do a lot in one load

Kitchen is next.. still have to unload the dishwasher that I loaded and washed today, and my sink is shiny! I have a small pile of dishes to go into the dishwasher, but they’re just in a nice little pile on the counter.

I must admit that I’m really enjoying the feeling of having a tidy kitchen when I get up in the morning, but also finding myself getting upset when I go in there and find wrappers and messes all over the counter after someone makes a snack. Working on reminding everyone to tidy up their own darn mess hehe.

hhmm.. tomorrow is Saturday and the gang will all be home for the weekend. This could mean trouble - but I think I’ll look at it as an opportunity for more family training lol.

As you can see, I am sticking with this, and already new habits are forming.  The fact that I’m now taking the time to make sure my kitchen is tidy before going to bed at night is a challenge unto itself for me LOL.
