You may have noticed that I’ve been incorporating video’s into my blog lately. I think I’m hooked :) And not just on YouTube, though there is a wealth of information to be discovered in the YouTube video library. Be sure to check out MySpace videos and Google Videos as well.

But do you realize how easy it is to create your own video that you can use to market your products and services on the internet? I spent part of yesterday creating my first promotional video:

Now, perhaps you’re thinking that you’re not ‘high tech’ enough to make something like this work for you and your business. It doesn’t have to be a full length motion picture! My Wahms United promotion is under a minute in length – and it wasn’t too difficult to put together.

Here’s what I did:

• Found some royalty free stock photos (yes – I did pay for the ones I used, but you may have some product images that your company has provided you with etc).
• Opened up Microsoft Movie Maker (only because I already have this on my computer. Try doing a search for free video editing software).
• I then followed the simple instructions to import my pictures, added titles and words over the images and the page transition effects (I hate to admit it, but Microsoft Movie Maker makes all this pretty simple to do lol).
• Once I had all that completed, I opened up Audacity, which is a free open source audio recording/editing program. Now believe me, I’m no expert with this software – I wrote out my script and clicked the record button – yes, I did re-record it a few times ;)
• Once I was happy with my audio recording, I saved it to my computer and imported the audio into my Microsoft Movie Maker. Add in a bit of music at the start and end and …. Voila!
