Archive for April, 2007
It has just become clear – in the last year I’ve become a newsletter junkie. The problem being however that the vast majority of the newsletters arriving in my inbox are JUNK. Does this mean that yours is junk? NO!!! The ones I’m talking about are all those darn sales letters, you know the ones – buy this product from me cuz I’m offering a better bonus than anyone else.
I just realized that I hadn’t posted the announcement here that the April edition of Wahm Newz is online now!
What is a Favicon? Pronounced (fav-eye-con) it is short for Favorite Icon which is a special 16×16 .ico image that will help you further brand your business. The favicon can be seen in your browsers address bar, to the left of the URL.
The following image shows the favicon that I use here on Wahm Cafe. Although it doesn’t match this website’s theme, it does match the main theme at www.wahmsunited.com, and by using the same favicon on Wahm Cafe, I’m letting people know (in a subtle way) that these two sites are connected.
Some time ago, my friend and associate, Melody Thacker was kind enough to tag me (lol). The topic is all about where we hang out online. The cool part about the internet is that we can meet and get to know a lot of people in a short amount of time. The trick to it however, is that you can’t go in with your eyes wide shut and start posting advertisement after advertisement in hopes of gaining new business. People are smarter than that – they want to get to know YOU and eventually, that will lead to having more and more people trust what you say, which in turn will grow your business. Trust doesn’t happen overnight.
Do you have a Squidoo Lens? Are you wondering what the heck a Squidoo even is?
Squidoo.com is a Web 2.0 Social Networking Community that allows you to create a simple blog type web page with a focus on a specific topic. It is a single page that you can dedicate to anything and setup is easy and free. The best part of having a Squidoo page (or lens as they call it) is that you can earn royalties (aka Money!) from the traffic that the lens generates. If you choose to, you can forfeit your royalties to a charity of your choice. Create one lens or a hundred, all for free. *Warning* Squidoo is also highly addictive!!
