Today was a relatively easy day where we were required to listen to a podcast and then watch 4 short videos.  Easy as pie :)  HA! lol.  Ed decided to send us on a quest for ‘ideas’, and then threatened our lives if we so much as thought about the “major league niches” such as:

• Internet Marketing
• Weight Loss
• Dog Training
• Real Estate
• Mortgages

Then we went through several idea generating videos where Ed showed us several sites that he gets his ideas from:

1. Ebay Pulse
2. Google Groups
3. Technorati
4. Google Trends

Our mission was to come up with 7 niche ideas using the sites mentioned.  Surprisingly, the very last step along this road will be about the product.  Common sense steps require that the market research comes first, and honestly, this is one area that I get impatient with lol.

When we move into really examing our niche ideas, we’ll discover whether they are worth it, or whether we need to scrap it.  We may hit the nail on the head and have 7 niches worth exploring further, we may end up with only 2 or quite possibly even none at all - in which case we start over with our idea generation.

On a side note, I’ve also been working on finishing up the ‘pre-season’ work and I have to admit that I’ve been absolutely floored by the tools I’ve discovered and installed, and how to effectively utilize many of the sites I’ve known about for a long time, but never really saw the point in.  In combination however, this is some truly powerful stuff!
