school 002Well, it finally happened.  Yep, my little man started school today!  It’s so hard to believe how big he’s getting and how fast he’s growing up :)

Yesterday I took him down to the school to drop a bunch of stuff off so he didn’t have to take much with him today aside from his lunch.  We also went over what door to go in, worked on him knowing his bus #, and all that other fun stuff that Mom’s fret over.

Today was also the first official day of my 12 y/o dd’s new job.  She’s babysitting two girls before and after school, but she starts at 6 am every other day.  This morning she phoned us at 8 am to make sure we were up and ready to go LOL (yes, she’s well aware of the fact that I’m sooooo not a morning person haha).

Of course, my kids are now in two different schools, though they get on the bus together, my dd gets off at her school first.  So at least she was there to make sure *R* started off ok.  But still, have to be a worry wart about my baby boy!

school busHere they are getting on the bus!  My son now goes to school every other day, all day long because our local public school is 100% bussed.  I have a funny feeling that I’m going to have a hard time keeping him awake after he gets home this afternoon LOL.  He’s the kind of kid that if you let him fall asleep even for 5 minutes, he’ll be up till midnight.  So my official work days will now be ending at 3:30 pm when I’ll walk over to meet the bus :)

school 007And they’re off! *CRY*
I’m still calling him my baby!!

  • Dianne, that’s so sweet, what a nice post. Our son turns 5 in November so this day is coming soon for us as well. It’s hard to believe how fast they grow up.

  • Thanks for the comments Patty & Ryan :) I’m in Canada, and our local school board has what’s called The Ontario Early Years Program which is a two year program before the kids go into grade 1, so here, they actually start school at the age of 4!
