You had to have known that somehow, someone, somewhere would come up with a way to help us make money from Twitter … and that time has now come.

Twitter, the #1 Micro-Blogging media of the year (century?) is still growing rapidly on a daily basis. With Facebook plugins allowing Tweeters (Twitter users) to post a Tweet (micro-blog post) that will automatically update your Facebook status to blog plugins that will automatically post a Tweet whenever you make a new blog post, in addition to being able to stay on top of what everyone else is doing, it’s no wonder that Twitter has developed the following that it has.

What The Heck Is TwittAd?

TwittAd was formed to give Twitter users and advertisers the opportunity to meet for product placement & website promotion on a Twitter user profile. Our goal is to not fill Twitter with ugly & obnoxious advertisements. We give advertisers templates and ideas to help keep the integrity of Twitter background images.

This is just a sample showing one of TwittAd’s templates, however you’re also free to make your own. It is important to note that TwittAd is not an automated advertisement tool – there is some work to do if you choose to try it out. Whenever an advertiser purchases from you, you will have to manually edit your profile template to include that advertisement, and then upload it to your Twitter account. This may or may not be something that you feel comfortable in doing.

Now for the important stuff – Payments:

You will get paid every hour you serve the ad. A Virtual Account balance will be calculated and once the advertisers ad expires the money is released into your Real Account balance.

1. Post Twitter account for advertisers to purchase
2. Select your duration & price
3. Wait for advertiser to purchase
4. Accept or Deny the proposed ad within 24 hours of purchase
5. If you accept, upload ad to the design section on your Twitter account
6. Notify TwittAd through your account maintenance page on TwittAd that the ad has been placed

If you’re interested in Advertising through TwittAd, you can do that too. For the moment I’m sticking with selling some ad space, so we’ll see how that goes first :)
