Twice this past week, I’ve two people have asked me for advice about how to make money at home. Now I’m not an Internet marketing expert by any measure. In fact, I’ve only had a monetized blog for eight months. On the other hand, I do know how to update and customize a Wordpress blog, redirect affiliate links and get a site indexed in Google overnight… which means I probably know more than most newbies, including my two friends.
A few weeks ago, my Father-In-Law was here for a visit. I used to work in the cellular industry so he always shows me his new toys and asks me if I can figure things out for him .. however the question he had for me that day made me shake my head for a minute or two!
It seemed that every time a caller left a voice mail message, my FIL would receive it as a text message instead – word for word of the voice message was converted to text. Some people (including me) may find that very cool, however my FIL didn’t as he’s not into text messaging people at all, and he also brought up a very valid concern about trying to read the text message and reply to it while driving. After playing around and leaving a voice mail message on his phone, I was rather floored to hear the notification ring on his phone and see my exact voice message had indeed been converted to text. There were instructions on how to listen to the original voice message if the user chose to do so.
Well .. I’m ashamed to see how long it’s been since I last posted here :( Not that I haven’t thought about it almost daily for the last few weeks, but for some reason I just couldn’t wrap my head around WHAT to write about.. so I’ve ended up procrastinating away more and more time.

Emergency Planning

Beans and lentils (aka legumes) are almost a perfect food: they’re high in protein and fibre and tons of other nutrients and they’re low in calories. Better yet, they’re cheap, especially if you buy them dried – you really can’t get better nutritional bang for your buck. Plus, if you’re organized, you can have them simmering away on the stove (or in the slow-cooker) all afternoon while you work.
