You may have noticed the following graphic in my sidebar:
Say NO To Paid EC Ads
That’s correct.. Wahm Cafe is not accepting any of Entrecard’s paid advertisements. I believe in giving credit where credit is due.. and that would be to those who are working hard for their ad placements, not the one’s that are simply paying for the ad spot.
As I’ve been doing my daily drops, I’ve come across many other blogs that feel the same way I do while there are still many others out there that are displaying the paid ads. My goal here is to compile a list of at least 300 other blogs that are NOT accepting those paid EC advertisements.
While this list will create an easy way for everyone to (relatively) quickly get in their maximum 300 drops per day, it will also serve as a list of blogs where we know we’ll receive 100% advertisement exposure, instead of splitting that exposure with paid advertisers.
***NOTE*** To quickly and easily drop on participating blogs, simply hold down your CTRL key and click on each link – I recommend clicking on 10 links at a time!
Entrecard has always been an excellent traffic generation tool for Wahm Cafe, and I’d like it to continue to draw traffic, and I hope you do too. There has been so many discussions on the paid advertising system that to be honest, it’s left me a tad confused .. I’ve even heard that if you don’t accept the paid ads that your site will move to the end of your category which will further reduce the amount of traffic we receive even though we’re working hard on our daily drops.
So let’s work together and support each other. If you do NOT accept paid Entrecard advertisements, please add your link below:

Thanks Cornyman .. I’ve seen other drop lists around, but I haven’t seen any that are dedicated to the No Paid EC Ads .. Don’t forget to ad your link too :)
By not accepting paid ads you double the value of your blog to other bloggers. Why should you have to pay $6.00 for 1k credits, and an advertiser only pays $.60 for 1000 page views. Then when you buy an overpriced ad for 1000cr, you find out that blog accepts paid ads, and you have to share 50% of the pageviews. Crazy stuff!

I just started a new list myself as a database, trying to help everyone consolidate EVERYONE’S list, I know its a big task ahead of me, so were all not going to 1,000 sites and start a MAIN DATABASE that will be posted forever of non EC paid ad’s list that ANYONE can come to ANYTIME!

Thanks for using my Dropper Friendly graphic!
I’ve noticed that they are placing those paid ads on sites that think they are not accepting them too. People need to set their ad settings– and pray they don’t get paid ads in their widgets(like the very questionable one that ran last weekend).
I’m having to re-so my Firefox bookmarks now because of so many people dropping out.

@cornyman Thanks for the list! It was indeed Busy Tee’s that I first saw the Say No graphic, but they didn’t have a list at that time lol .. Wahm Cafe is on it now though ;) I’ll check out the other ones too.
@Harriet You are welcome :) I was going to create another one and then thought.. why? lol. Happy to support another blogger with that. I agree that the ad settings are important – so far I’ve been lucky and haven’t seen any sneak through, but what happens when I go away for the weekend and can’t babysit my dashboard? uuugghhh :(( And it’s not like I don’t have 10 zillion other things to do in a day right? lol. I’ve also noticed a lot of drop outs .. using the toolbar, many that I had as favorites are gone, and now there’s no way that I’ve found to remove them from my favorites list which makes it pretty much pointless.
@Joy – Thanks so much for your support! I suspect if enough of us get together, EC may have no choice but to make some changes *fingers crossed* :)

It has been nice visiting your blog and a number of the blogs on the list. I am assuming that since you are creating a list that is comprised of 300 blogs that this is your drop list. I currently accept paid ads, so therefore I won’t be on your list.
To me, you are creating a “black list” that is blacklisting those of us who have visited and supported many of the blogs on this list. I work hard every night dropping close to 300 drops, many that are on this list.
I also use all my credit’s to “advertise” with E-card. I do not buy ads but I do believe that it is the owner of Entrecard’s right to do with his site what he deems necessary, just as you have a right to do with your sight what is necessary and I have the right to do with my site what I deem necessary.
I also won’t ever be cashing out my credits because I do not believe that it is necessary to supply my SS # when I will never make enough to be sent a 1099 Misc.
So I wish all the blogs on this list well in your blogging endeavors and I wish you well, I will not be dropping on your sites if you are not going to be dropping on my site because I accept paid ads.

Hi JT.. thanks for your comment!! I do have to correct you on one thing – I return drops regardless of who they come from, and I have no plans on changing that .. be it from a site that accepts paid ads or not. That said however, I will be selecting from this list as to who I advertise with .. this list may never reach 300, or it may go over, no idea what will eventually happen. I am in no way trying to create a “blacklist”, because there are thousands of terrific blogs out there that do accept paid ads. I would love to see EC increase their 300 drop limit personally, but I doubt that will happen.
As for EC’s right to do with their site what he deems necessary, absolutely!! I do believe there should have been alternatives to this ad program though.. even by creating an opt-out function for those that don’t want to accept the paid ads. Prior to my refusing these ads, I had seen several that were rather questionable, and not something that I wanted to appear on my blog and yes, though I had the power to reject those advertisements I wanted to be fair to those that do advertise with me and provide them with 100% advertisement time, just as I’d like in return, as has always been the way with EC.
So JT, I hope that we can continue to be drop buddies .. regardless, I will continue to be a reader of The Frugal Housewife as it’s a terrific blog :))
I’m in. I don’t accept paid EC ads but I reciprocate EC drops on whoever drops on me.

Hi Dianne, thank you for including my blog on the list. You are right, the droppers who work hard to promote their blogs deserve 100% exposure. It is the droppers who made entrecard big in the first place.

I just found your blog on the FB connect. I don’t follow what y’all are talking about. Is there a site you could direct me to so I could learn more about it. I read the posts but I think I need a beginner intro to the drops. I want to do a revamp on my blog and to start getting sponsors and ads but I am new to all of it. I have heard of swapping ads with people and you both help promote each other but I am just starting to look into all of this. Thank so much. Love you blog!
