Twitter

I’ve admitted on more than one occasion that I tend to use Twitter in spurts, however I do recognize the power of the Tweet and always end up going back for more.  In recent weeks, I’ve had several friends follow me, and today when I went to check up on them, I discovered that the majority of them had posted one tweet right after setting up their account, and they haven’t been seen since.  The term that I’ve coined for this phenomena is the “Twit-and-Run“.

A few weeks ago, my Father-In-Law was here for a visit.  I used to work in the cellular industry so he always shows me his new toys and asks me if I can figure things out for him .. however the question he had for me that day made me shake my head for a minute or two!

It seemed that every time a caller left a voice mail message, my FIL would receive it as a text message instead – word for word of the voice message was converted to text.  Some people (including me) may find that very cool, however my FIL didn’t as he’s not into text messaging people at all, and he also brought up a very valid concern about trying to read the text message and reply to it while driving.  After playing around and leaving a voice mail message on his phone, I was rather floored to hear the notification ring on his phone and see my exact voice message had indeed been converted to text.  There were instructions on how to listen to the original voice message if the user chose to do so.
